MEL'S DINER

Somewhere in the midst of becoming a mother I also became a chef. Pretty much from the moment I wake up, till I hit my pillow at night, I live in the kitchen. My day starts with preparing breakfast, serving breakfast, cleaning the breakfast dishes; preparing snack, serving snack, cleaning the snack dishes; preparing lunch, serving lunch, cleaning the lunch dishes; snack again and then dinner which entails more preparation time, and more dishes! And then I go to bed and get up and do it all over again! Oh and I should add busboy to my new found resume, as the amount of crumbs made by the girls are incredible. Really my resume is expanding by the minute. Now I can't take all the credit as my sous chef Michael is a big help. And I guess in the end all that matters are the smiling faces on my customers. Now if I could just find someone to make a fluorescent pink Mel's Diner sign ;-) (only pink for the Haffner girls).

OMG, ain't that the truth! I had no idea how much of my life as a mother would be spent preparing, feeding, and cleaning up after meals. It's crazy! Who has time for anything else?
